Description

Celebrate a classic! In 2025 we mark the 45th anniversary of The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book. To honour this icon, bake one of your favourite cakes from the original cookbook, following the recipe and traditional decorations. Exhibits must be delivered to the Henderson Pavilion between 8:00–9:30am on Saturday 18th October, with judging at 10:30am. Only one entry per exhibitor. Please include a copy of the recipe with your cake, ensure it doesn’t require refrigeration, cover it with a clear oven bag (not cling wrap), and present it on a solid plate or board. Fantastic prizes on offer thanks to Season To Taste and The Other Place Rutherglen!

Conditions of Entry

- Bake one of your favourite cakes, to the specific recipe in the original cook book, using the traditional published decorations.
- Include a copy of the recipe with your exhibit
-Cake must be at the Henderson Pavilion between 8 am & 9.30 am on Saturday 18th October
-Judging commences at 10.30 am on Saturday 18th
-Only one entry per Exhibitor
-Baking exhibits must not require refrigeration.
-All Baking exhibits should be covered with clear plastic bags (not plastic clingwrap - oven bags are ideal)
-Plates/boards must be solid and of an appropriate size.
